Teaching

My goal as an educator is to create inclusive spaces where students are excited and empowered to learn about technology and how to advance their visions of social equity through computing.

See my latest teaching statement and lab website for more details.

Classroom

I host a bi-annual panel conversation on Careers in Computing and Accessibility for undergraduate computing majors.
I employ evidence-based practices, including active learning and team-based learning, in the classroom, and I make many of my materials for teaching accessibility and teaching accessibly freely available.

Community

Title slide of the fourth webinar titled "Smartphones for Older Adults with Vision Loss: BlindShell Classic 2, MiniVision 2+, RealSAM Pocket, iPhone."
In 2023, in collaboration with the DMC, my students and I delivered a series of four webinars to educate local blind and low vision older adults about the various accessible smart phones they may choose from.
My students and I regularly host educational webinars, workshops, and training sessions to support technology access for blind and low vision members of our local community.
